Hole No. 4 at Baltimore Country Club
Baltimore Country Club at Five Farms
Baltimore, Maryland

The restoration work accomplished on the historic Five Farms East Course, built by A.W. Tillinghast in 1926, consisted of tree removal, A. W. Tillinghasttee renovation and additions, bunker restoration and repositioning. In addition, select green surfaces were carefully altered to soften sloping to increase cuppable areas.

During the restoration program, it was essential to remain true to the original design of A.W. Tillinghast.

The Champions Tour has awarded Five Farms with its fifth Major, The Champions Tour Championship. Five Farms will host this Major from 2007 through 2011.

In the summer and fall of 2006, we completed the remaining restoration work on this Tillinghast masterpiece.

Oil Painting by Michael Miller

"There is many a fine technician who through proper cleaning techniques can bring out the beauty and brilliance of colors in a painting. But it takes far more than technical skill to restore what the artist put on a canvas when time and poor care have had its way.

Keith Foster proves the truth of this once again. His gentle manipulation of Tilly's canvases have allowed the brilliance of the old master to shine forth once again. The subtlety of shot angles, shot placement forcing the play to make choices of risk and reward, the joy of playing golf on a course of the grandest quality has been granted once again for another generation of players at Five Farms. They will walk the fields and praise Tilly while he thanks Keith for seeing what he himself saw." — Phillip Young, Author & Historian of A.W. Tillinghast
