Knollwood Club

This wonderful 1924 Colt and Alison course hosted the U.S. Amateur in 1956. I was retained after the Club looked at our completed program for the Country Club of Detroit, which was also an original Colt & Alison design.

Our work at Knollwood began in preparing a comprehensive plan that seeks to restore its masterpiece. The program will focus on recapturing 30,000 square feet of green surface, which has been lost over the years. We will reposition and reshape all of the bunkers in Alison style while also cleaning up green surrounds.

In 2009, I worked closely with the Knollwood Club on an enhancement program which focused on greens and bunkers.

In the fall of 2010, we will finish the enhancement work with the renovation of all tees. Oliphant Golf will begin their work in mid-September and continue through late October.
