Paradise Valley Country Club
Paradise
Valley, Arizona
Like many older private clubs, Paradise Valley had,
over the years, become a dated golf course where many
of the features had lost their appeal. In 1996, I set
out to return a more classic look for the golf course
and its features. Tees were built in a style reminiscent
of the 1920s, and the bunkers were built similar to
the style of Riviera Country Club in an effort to create
interest and drama that would compliment the interesting
green surfaces.
With the success of the golf course renovation, the
membership then undertook a major clubhouse program.
This expansion created the need to rebuild the 9th and
18th greens as well as the 1st and 10th tees. My continued
relationship at Paradise Valley also included the refinement
of all green surface contours, the coring out and installation
of mix to all approaches and select bunker work.
